Sports Report - Week 8, Term 3


FOOTBALL

2nd XI won Lind 3 vsHNHS 2

D Grade beat St Johns 45-34 in Div 3

 

HOCKEY

1st XI played St Johns on Wednesday night.  While the our team were mentally and physicaly fatigues after tournament week they managed to dominate key parts of the game taking the win 5-3.

Goal scorers were Will Kerr, Shea Bentley with 2 from PC’s, Tim Wilson & Callum O’Keefe.

The team is now preparing for their final two games of the season - HBHS next week and NBHS in the final.

 

RUGBY

2nd XV won against CHB 36-17.  Were losing at half time and then a massive come back in the 2nd half.

 

ECNI ROAD RACE

On Thursday 20th August we had two students compete in the East Coast North Island Road Race held at Frimely Park.

In the yr9 boy’s category Zion Perrott came 7th

Junior Boys Jett Varcoe came 11th.

 

WINTER TOURNAMENT WEEK

Hockey Colts A: won 2, lost 1, drew 1

 

Hockey 1st XI finished 6th out of 12 teams

Won 4-2 against Taradale High School

Lost 2-1 against Fielding HS

Won 4-1 against Whanganui Collegiate

Lost 2-1 against Wellington College

Won 7-2 against Palmerston North Boys High

Lost 4-0 against Rathkeale

 

Football 1st XI finished 3rd out of 12 teams

Won 4-1 against Bethlehem College

Lost 1-2 against Whangarei Boys High

Won 1-0 against Trident High School

Won 2-1 against Taradale High School

Win 4-3 against Rathkeale

 

SKIING

Cole Scott travelled to Mt Hutt to compete with the Wanaka Alpine Race Team & Luke Wilkins for the Queenstown Alpine Ski Team for the South Island Champs & National Points Youth Series. 

Combined results after Day 3 in the U19 Mens Cole Scott 2nd, U16 Mens Luke Wilkins 4th

 

KAYAKING

Danile Brown and Hamish Macky competed in the Canoe Racing NZ 10K Champs.  In the u18 mens Daniel came 3rd.  In the Kayak Krazy Series (best of 3 performances) Daniel won and Hamish 2nd.

 

TENNIS

Jonathan Fall competed in the Tennis Central Elite Junior tournament in Wellington over the weekend and obtained runner-up place.  He beat one of the top 18s players in the country convincingly in the semi-final to reach the final.   

 

HIBS INTERMEDIATE EXCANGE

Hockey won 4-2

Football loss 3-1 (Will Foster scored for Lindisfarne)

Rugby loss 46-24

 

DUKE OF EDINBURGH

Congratulations to Angus Lowe for complete his Bronze award.
