Year 12 Biology Fieldtrip to Ahuriri Rocky Shore

Last week as part of their Ecology Internal Assessment our Level 2 Biology students visited the Rocky Shore in Ahuriri to carry out transect sampling of the community of Rocky Shore organisms. After a busy morning collecting data, they got to enjoy a picnic lunch on Marine Parade and then an educational programme visit to the National Aquarium where we could further understand the reasons for the zonation pattern and the food webs that exist in this community, by listening to experts in this field. A perfect sunny winters day to be in the outdoors and applying their knowledge.
