A Successful 2020 House Music Competition

Our first House event post-lockdown ran last night in the Lowe Performing Arts Centre with a smaller audience in attendance and a wider audience tuning in via our live-stream.

House Music had a slightly different program to previous years and focused more on the smaller ensemble choirs, solos, instrumental and rock bands. Each house performed well, and it was exciting to see some new faces participating and hidden talents appearing!

Durham House took out the overall win, coming first in their solo, instrumental and rock band. The small ensemble choir category was won by Aidan House with their rendition of ‘Hey Ho’, by the Lumineers. We would like to thank parents, Wendy Hunt and Liz Ashby for taking time out of their evening to assist with the adjudicating and prize presenting. There was a recount of the points, which means that third place now goes to Cuthbert and fourth to Oswald.

The final standings are as follows:

1st Durham – 35 points

2nd Aidan – 26 points

3rd Cuthbert – 23 points

4th Oswald – 22 points
