"Lindisfarne returned an outstanding set of results in the inaugural Derek Ward Secondary School
Tennis Championships, hosted by Lindisfarne and Hastings Girls High. We entered a small team of
Senior players: Jonathon Fall; Hunter Every; David Davis and Charlie Lowry and a team of eight
Juniors: Monty Cullwick; Freddy Hoggard; Tom Baines; Charlie Titter; Joshua Griffiths; Jett Varcoe;
David Suisted and Lachlan Scott.

All our players performed well and it was great to see three of our Seniors make the semi-finals and
two of our Juniors make their semi-finals. The final of the Seniors saw Jonathon Fall take the title
with Hunter Every runner up and David Davis finish third equal with the top Havelock North player.
In the Juniors Monty Cullwick finished second and Freddy Hoggard finished 3 rd equal, both eventually
losing to Napier Boys High number 1 player. To have 5 players make the podium was an amazing
achievement and underlines the strength of tennis in the school at the present moment"
