Padder Tennis Introduction to Intermediate School

This week Glen Petersen and Paul Grubi along with the generous support of the Lindisfarne College Parents and Friends Association introduced Padder Tennis to the Intermediate School. The nostalgia of yesteryear is apparent as we think back to our days as kids in primary schools all across the country.

The new technology showcasing carbon fibre racquets and depressurised balls is giving all kids opportunity to enjoy a new, competitive and enjoyable game with the ultimate goal of bringing them to the level of enjoying full tennis. This new sport, being a modified version of tennis may well have its merits in its own right as the game develops but will also act as an introduction to full tennis. The real purpose of this game is to give kids the opportunity to play, participate and more importantly enjoy success hitting and rallying across the net with their mates.

It has been a great couple of days introducing this to a range of boys in the Intermediate School and we look forward to greater participation in Term Four.
