My name is Theo King and I am extremely privileged and excited to be Head of Boarding for 2025. I started as a weekly boarder in Year 9. I was very nervous, a college with 520 boys was very different to my little country school of Takapau Primary. However, boarding at Lindisfarne is one of the best things that could have happened to me. It has allowed me to get involved in every aspect of the school, and take as many opportunities as I can. The culture around our boarding house is special and the support you get from peers and teachers is incredible. During my journey at Lindisfarne, I have been awarded my Academic Tie in Level 1 and Academic Colours in Level 2, and hope to gain Excellence endorsed in Level 3 this year. I love my involvement in the school bands as first trumpet, and being in the school productions. Being a member of the Senior A Tennis and 1st XI Hockey teams has been a great opportunity to represent the school, and the school spirit on the sidelines of those games is incredibly uplifting.
My goal for the hostel this year is to make it a place where we push each other to grow, to step outside our comfort zones, and to seize any opportunity that comes our way. When one of us does well, we all do well because brotherhood is built on support, encouragement, and belief. I want the sense of brotherhood to be stronger than ever in our boarding house. I, along with all of the boarding prefects, hope to leave a positive impact on the lives of all the boys of the College, and encourage them to make the most of their journey at Lindisfarne.
