Wellbeing Blog - Kids Online Tips & Tricks

In 2024 Lindisfarne College engaged the expertise of Mr Rob Cope from Our Kids Online who presented a hard hitting, yet entertaining talk on both the harms of a world dominated by technology, but also a range of strategies for us as parents and educators to put into practice to keep our kids safe and allow them to thrive in the world they are growing up in.

Our Kids Online are now providing fortnightly tips and tricks to our community regarding strategies they could and probably should put in place to raise more resilient and well-rounded young people.  These resources will be shared via this Life at Lindisfarne Wellbeing blog.

“How to Turn Your Kids Bad Day into a Good Day”.Sometimes our kids get stuck in a funk, and no matter how hard we try, they seem determined to have a bad day! But here’s a simple way to help turn things around.

If we can teach our children from a young age that, no matter what happens, they always have the power to choose their response, we’re setting them up for lifelong resilience and stronger mental health.

Learning that we are responsible for how we navigate life is one of the most valuable lessons we can give them.

Viktor E. Frankl captured this idea beautifully in Man’s Search for Meaning:" Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way."

Helping our kids understand this now will empower them to face life’s challenges with strength, grace, and confidence.
