Some great results over the last couple of weeks of Lindisfarne Cricket.

In Wednesday T20 cricket, the Second XI have had back to back victories, beating Napier Boys Green by 31 runs (Flynn Ellingham 46, Connor Kimble 30) and then beat Taradale High School by 7 runs (Nic Cater 44, Flynn Ellingham 36). In Saturday cricket Lindisfarne 2nd XI went down to Havelock North CC by 37 runs (Jack Blyth 24).

On the weekend Colts A team had an eight wicket win against Hastings Boys High School.  Hastings scored 109 with Sam Chrystall taking three wickets  and Harry Huxford two.  Will Foster batted superbly to score 58 not out including eight boundaries and he had good support from Tom Speers who scored 33.

On Wednesday 17th March our Junior White recorded back to back victories with a win over our own Junior Red team by 32 runs (Nic Robertson 20, Viggo Pedersen 21 not out, George Clark 2/3 off 2 overs). Junior White then beat St Johns by 11 runs (Harry Huxford 70 not out).

This week our Lindisfarne White team another nail-biting finish in our last game of the summer against St Johns. Batting first Lindisfarne made 120 off our 20 overs with Zac Taylor top scoring with 37. St Johns batted sensibly throughout their chase getting to 109 for 1 in 19 overs, needing 12 runs off their last over to win. 8 runs, 2 clean bowled dismissals and 2 run-outs later we came out on top. Charlie Sisam's final over proved the difference as he ended with figures of 3/15 off his three overs.

Our Junior Red team had a good win against St Johns this Wednesday with Nicolas Robertson scoring a great 50 and Jack Workman and George Kenny also in the runs. Jack Workman was the best of the Junior Red bowlers with three wickets and Alex Boustridge took two wickets.

The Intermediate Second XI recorded a fine win over Hastings Intermediate with Daniel Sheikh scoring 26. In the most recent game we won against Havelock North Intermediate.  Scoring 116 runs with Ethan du Toit and Thomas Griffiths top scoring.

Havelock made 66 runs in reply with Thomas Griffiths and Locky Hallett being our most economical.

Can Sam Cassidy, Harry Huxford, Nicolas Robertson and Will Foster please come forward to receive the 50 run bat.  Sam for his 75 not out, Harry for his 70 not out, Nicholas for 50 runs and Will 58 not out.

Congratulation to Tom Druzianic for achieving his Gold award.  This is an outstanding achievement with approximately 200 hours of volunteered time just for his gold let alone the hours he also did for his bronze and silver awards. This means in his 200 hours Tom has been involved in recreation/sport, learning a new skill, giving help to a service/charity, going on adventurous journeys to learn about the outdoors and a weekly residential project which involves staying with people he doesn’t know and working in groups to achieve tasks.

Tom also gets to go and be present his award and badge by the Governor General.

Tom can you please come up to receive your award.
