Sports Report 11.03.21


CRICKET

Our Intermediate 1st XI defeated Taradale Intermediate by seven wickets on Saturday. Taradale made 112 all out, with the chief destroyer being Harry Reed, taking 3 for 7. Lindisfarne scored 113 for 2 with Thomas King 32 not out and Reid Palmer 17 the leading batsmen.

Our Intermediate 2nd XI had a good win against Taradale Intermediate.  We scored 105 runs with top scorer Thomas Griffiths.  Taradale scored 68 in reply with the wickets being shared around the team.  Locky Hallett was a 'catch-magnet' for the day.

FUTSAL

In last Friday nights comps our junior year 9 and 10 teams played each other.  Our year 9 team winning 5-1.

Our Senior A’s lost 4-3 and our Bs won 2-1.

In the HB Futsal comp on Wednesday our Senior A team made semi finals losing in a titanic penalty shoot-out.  Our senior B team came 6th.  This was a good experience leading up into tournament week.

 

INTERMEDIATE SCOT’S EXCHANGE

Scots college came up for the exchange on Tuesday 9th March.

Our 1st XI cricket had their first ever win.  Scots were bowled out for 88 with 3 run outs and 5 boys being bowled.  Lindisfarne chased down the runs for the loss of five wickets. James Brownie and Reid Palmer took 2 wickets each and Patrick Ross, Tom Raggett and James Boyes batted well.

Our 2nd XI cricket tried hard against Scots who batted very well.  Xavier Labat showed plenty of potential with his batting.

The tennis team won their matches 10-2 with some very close games.  Good sportsmanship was shown throughout the afternoon.
