Finance Assistant

The Finance Assistant role is 25 hours per week and is varied and rewarding. You will work closely with our Financial Administrator to help keep our financial operations running smoothly. From supporting payroll and reconciling bank receipts to helping with grant applications and providing backup for the activities in the college’s uniform shop, no two days are quite the same!

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, flexible and enjoys being part of a close-knit team that works hard and supports one another.



Head of Department: Te Reo Maori

Lindisfarne College is a state integrated Y7–13 day and boarding school for boys in Hawke’s Bay. We have a proud record of outstanding academic and co-curricular achievement that forms an important part of our special character. Our college site, located on the outskirts of Hastings, offers expansive playing fields and unrivalled facilities for our young men to develop their sporting and cultural passions.

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Department for who can lead our Te Reo Māori department.  You will be responsible for teaching te reo to students across all year levels (7-13).  Experience at secondary level and NCEA is preferable. The candidate will support the college by playing a lead role in events such as pōwhiri, mihi whakatau and other related kaupapa Māori.

Applicants should possess a desire to continue the growth and progress of Te ao Māori within Lindisfarne College.  The ideal candidate will have a strong and genuine willingness to care for our Māori boys and their whānau in all cornerstones of the college and in keeping with our strategic vision.

The successful candidate will join a well-resourced, supportive, collaborative and enthusiastic languages faculty and wider staff whānau.

As a special character school, you will be required to support the Christian values that underpin our approach and contribute to the extra-curricular programme at the college.

Workshop Technician

We are seeking a practically skilled and motivated Workshop Technician to support our Technology Faculty. This part-time role (25 hours/week, term time plus one preparation week each term) is central to the smooth running of our wood and metal workshops.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of machinery, hand tools, and workshop equipment
  • Preparation and processing of materials for classroom use
  • Inventory control and resource management
  • Supporting staff and students during practical lessons
  • Supporting  safe and efficient workshop operations

We’re looking for someone with strong hands-on skills, good organisation, and a proactive approach.
