Sports Report 20.03.20


CRICKET

The 1st XI had an amazing, nail biting 1 run win over NBHS in the Gillette Cup HB final,

123-122.  They now have to go Palmerston North for the Central Districts Gillette Cup playoffs later this year.

Congratulations also to Sebastian Carlisle who made his 1st XI debut.

 

2nd XI v HBHS 11-13 a very close game and was apparently lots of fun
 

Lindisfarne Junior Red team vs Napier Boys had another good win.

Sam Chrystall was the standout bowler with 3 overs 2 Maidens and 2 wickets for 2 runs.

Jasper Howard and Keegan Jensen put on an unbeaten 53 run partnership to get us home in the 13th over. Jasper Howard was 25 not out and Keegan Jensen was 13 not out.

 

TENNIS

In the Derek Ward Secondary Schools Champs three of our seniors made the semi finals and two of our juniors. In the final Jono Fall took the title and Hunter Every Runner up and David Davis finished 3rd equal.

In the juniors Monty Cullwick finished 2nd and Freddy Hoggard 3rd equal.

 

SAILING

Lindisfarne College sailing team competed in the Hawkes bay Secondary School Teams sailing regatta in the weekend. This was the first teams sailing regatta Lindisfarne has been a part of for some time and were up against some very experienced teams. We recorded wins agains Napier Boy's high school, Taupo's Tohara College and finished 5th overall. This qualified the Lindisfarne team for the Secondary schools Central north island regatta in Taupo at the end of this month".

Finn Balchin finished third overall in the Optimist Open class

Finn MacTaggart had a strong first day leading the Optimist green fleet, finishing third overall in his respective class.

Corban got silver in beach sprint and gold in the U16 breach relay along with Llewellyn.

Hamish, Daniel B & Daniel C made the Taplin final.

FUTSAL

In the competition on Tuesday the Lindisfarne B team made the senior finals after knocking our A team out on pens only to sadly lose to Hastings boys in the final 

The Lindisfarne junior team also made the finals v nbhs sadly also losing in a close game.
