It is well known that a highlight of Year 9 French is the annual field trip to Yabon. The much-anticipated visit happened this week for Mrs Lamond’s class, and the boys enjoyed their ‘les chocolats chauds’ (hot chocolates), les donuts, les baguettes, les pains aux raisins and les croissants. They were also fortunate to be able to watch the croissants being made from scratch. The looks through the window say it all!

The class then visited ‘La petite chocolate’, just across the road and boys were able to purchase some goodies. The owner is French and held a simple conversation with each of the boys in French, asking their names, ages, where they lived etc. At first the boys were shy, but their confidence grew, and Mrs Lamond said it was fantastic to hear them conversing with the owner in her language.
