Learning for Life

Our learning environment challenges and supports every young man to achieve his personal best. A Tradition of Excellence

Being amongst the best is both an ongoing test, and an honour we are extremely proud of. The proof is in the results we consistently generate. Our NCEA results place us year after year amongst the top-rated boys’ schools in New Zealand, allowing many of our students to win scholarships and gain entry to leading universities both in New Zealand and overseas.

Recognising achievements

When our students achieve, we like to let them know. The College recognises academic achievement with awards in Assemblies, Good Report morning teas, Rector's Citations, Centurion Awards, Honours Ties and the coveted Academic Colours. Competition for the award of the Dux of the College is fierce and inspires top students to strive for excellence in all they do.​​​​​​

Academic Colours are awarded to students who achieved 70%+ GPA in NCEA level Two.

If a students GPA is higher than 90% (top 5 students in Level One and top 5 students in Level Two) they are awarded with distinction


Academic Ties are awarded to students who achieved 70%+ GPA in NCEA Level One.

The Rector’s Citation is awarded to students in which staff recognise the qualities of diligence and determination through the year and in their end of year results.

Lindisfarne College library

The Lindisfarne College Library plays a central role in supporting student learning while fostering a lifelong love of reading. It operates as a welcoming community space, with parents, families, and staff encouraged to make use of its facilities.

Open until 9.00 p.m. during the week, the Library provides both boarders and day students with valuable opportunities to study and read after school hours. It is staffed at all times by experienced library professionals and offers an extensive range of physical and digital resources designed to enrich the curriculum and support academic success across all year levels.
