Life at Lindisfarne

Across our four cornerstones, every young man finds the space to grow in character, ability and confidence in the classroom, on the field and beyond.

Academic empowerment

Our learning environment empowers each of our young men to be the best that they can be.

We inspire every young man to achieve his personal best through exceptional teaching, innovative learning environments, and a future-focused curriculum. Consistently among New Zealand's highest-performing boys' schools, we combine academic excellence with personalised support to help every student develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed - both at school and beyond.

Sporting endeavour

Balance matters, and every boy needs a physical outlet. Sport complements the academic, cultural and spiritual dimensions, building life skills, confidence and resilience. Our point of difference: every team has a teacher as coach or manager. Each year our sportsmen enjoy success in regional and national competitions.

Cultural enrichment

Our cultural programme is comprehensive and varied. It’s been carefully designed to expose the boys to a rich tapestry of cultural activities, where they are free to discover their hidden talents and interests, in a boys-only environment.

All our junior students study Music, Visual Arts, Technology, Languages and Oral Communication. This gives each boy a broad base from which to expand their favourite forms of expression. Many are then inspired to explore further cultural possibilities, and arts subjects, in our extensive senior curriculum.

Christian dimension

Boys of all faiths are welcome in the Lindisfarne family. But enrolment does require a positive commitment to live by our special character, which is entrenched in the Christian faith and our Presbyterian heritage.

There are many layers to the Christian dimension of our school, but it is our Christian values that underpin everything, including how we define the crucial characteristics of who we are, what we do, and how others see us. Central to the College is our ‘Special Character’, which is focused on three areas; religious studies, worship and pastoral care.

Student support

Wellbeing isn’t just a word, or a nice to have. It’s essential to learning and personal growth. When a student is healthy, and feeling good, they shine. Their ability to retain information increases. Their demeanour changes. They become more positive, more excited by life, and more able to change and develop new skills.
