Lindisfarne College is an Integrated Presbyterian boys' school for
students aged from eleven to eighteen years. It has just under 500
pupils, of whom 240 are boarders who come largely from the rural areas
of the East coast of the North Island. The College is situated on the
outskirts of Hastings, One of two cities that are in very close
proximity to each other. The school is set in beautiful grounds, with
landscaped gardens and well developed trees, many of which were planted
just under 100 years ago.
The Conference will largely be held in
Lindisfarne's new 400-seat auditorium, adjoining its Chapel/Hall and
Gymnasium. Air conditioned classrooms will accommodate the workshops
from around the globe on 'best practice for boys'.
Lindisfarne has a Dining Room
that on a daily basis normally caters for 600 students and faculty
lunches, together with 250 breakfasts and evening meals for boarders.
The Dining Room and a marquee on the College's Homestead Lawn will
cater for Conference breakfasts and lunches, while the World Trivial
Pursuits night and the Art Deco Dinner will be hosted in the College's
Gymnasium.
While most Conference delegates will be
accommodated in the hotels and motels along the Napier waterfront,
others are welcome to stay in single room accommodation available on
site in the College's senior boarding houses.
Buses will transport delegates daily from their
recommended conference accommodation alongside the Napier waterfront to
the Conference venue and the associated activities.
