Introduction to IBSC 2009

  • International event to be hosted by Lindisfarne College

During a school assembly in 2006 the Chairman of the International Boys' Schools Coalition (IBSC) Mr Graham Able and IBSC NZ Chairman Mr Jim Dale made a major announcement that Lindisfarne College will host the 16th Annual IBSC Conference in 2009.

This is incredible news for both our college and New Zealand, a major 'coup' and great reward for the efforts of Rector Lander, Mr Richardson and the Boys Focus Group. It is the first time the conference has been held in New Zealand and indeed the first time away from the worlds major cities.

The conference will attract delegates from member schools from around the globe (in particular the USA, UK, South Africa and Australia) for 4 days of Key Note Speakers, Workshops and Networking.

Our conference theme is "Windows into Manhood"and between now and mid 2009 an exciting and busy time lies ahead as preparations for the conference take shape and we prepare to give delegates a "Taste of New Zealand and Hawke's Bay".
